Update from Andrew Hayes, Managing Partner

This year has been amongst the most lively in Hudson Sandler’s 35 years.

As we approach the end of 2021, we can all look back on a major uptick in activity across strategic communications, but particularly around IPOs and M&A in the UK and internationally.  We are delighted to have been at the forefront of some of the highest profile transactions of recent months including 888’s $2.2 billion offer for William Hill, Nova Resources $5.5 billion offer for Kaz Minerals and CDC’s $320 million partnership with DP World. New retained clients range from e-commerce giant Alibaba and leading wealth manager Coutts to Africa’s first fintech ‘unicorn’ Flutterwave. We have advised on many IPOs in London, and New York so far this year.

Capital markets are in our DNA being the trusted advisor to over 60 quoted companies across four continents with our newest LSE listed client being MJ Gleeson. But we have also never been more relevant to today’s fast moving, socially and environmentally focused  digital world where stakeholders are focused on broader corporate purpose beyond narrow shareholder returns.  Mandates have included promoting Airtel Africa as a leader in transforming lives across Africa.

Today our HS Sustain capability is the golden thread that runs through all our communications campaigns.  Whether it’s a focus on ESG as a critical component of a successful IPO, supporting clients on their journey to help build a sustainable future or partnering with some of the world’s leading NGOs fighting poverty, disease and inequality.   The net zero economy is coming and we believe that organisations that evolve will be rewarded by all their stakeholders, including the investment markets that are now focused on climate risk as the key economic and social driver of the future. HS Sustain is core to our purpose and value add.

With all the disruption caused by COVID19, we are proud to be powering ahead as ‘We Create Possibility’ for our clients.
